SECOND CRUSADE 1147

 

The Second Crusade was organized in 1147 after the Muslim armies conquered Edessa in Southern Turkey. It was largely a failure in the East, however, the western campaign succeeded in capturing Lisbon from the Muslim Moors who had held it since 716.
